Rain Gutter Cleaning

You wouldn't believe some of the things we have pulled out of dirty rain gutters. Besides dead leaves and branches, we've removed tennis balls, birds' nests, large growing plants (roots and all), broken tiles and other roofing material, and ash from wildfires. It's important to have your gutters cleaned regularly to prevent damage to your home.

How Often?

Most homeowners never think about their gutters until they have a problem, and then it’s often a big problem. Take it from someone who has been in the business for a long time... Neglecting your gutters can lead to serious issues down the road. Here are some common problems caused by dirty or clogged gutters:

  • Water can back up and overflow into unwanted areas, sometimes causing water damage inside the home
  • Leaves and brush built up in the gutters can be a fire hazard, endangering the home
  • The weight of debris built up in the gutter can pull the gutter away from the house, causing damage to both the gutter and the home. Sometimes a falling gutter will even break a window.

Rain gutters should be cleaned thoroughly once or twice a year, depending on the environment immediately around your home. In southern California, it is smart to schedule an annual cleaning right after the leaves have fallen and the Santa Ana winds have blown through, generally in late October or November. But if it has been more than twelve months since your last cleaning, don't wait. You'll want to give us a call right away. We'll give you a quote before we start any work.
